Meet Torin

NOYO musician Torin

NOYO has made me more confident. I’m proud of being in a disabled-led orchestra to show people how amazing we are.

Torin, NOYO Tenor Horn player

We all believe the arts could be enriched by being more diverse, and yet disabled musicians are still widely excluded from the orchestral sector.

With your support, we can change this. The National Open Youth Orchestra offers a progression route for disabled young musicians. We’re pioneering an inclusive learning environment where they can develop their skills and realise their musical potential.

Together we can nurture some of the UK’s most talented young disabled musicians.

Your donation could:

  • Help NOYO musicians find the right instrument for them, including free access to the award-winning digital instrument, Clarion, which can be played with any part of the body, including a musician’s eyes
  • Commission exciting new music, composed for a diverse group of musicians playing a wide range of acoustic and accessible electronic instruments
  • Support the musicians’ wellbeing. We provide pastoral support so NOYO musicians can grow their confidence, as well as their musical skills. Some of the musicians who join the orchestra have had limited opportunities to play with others before.

I want more people to not give up playing music.

Meet Ella, musican and Clarion player

With your support, talented young musicians like Torin and Ella can be a part of this pioneering ensemble.
