The National Open Youth Orchestra perform at Hoddinott Hall.

Thank you for joining us on our concert tour!

Saxophonist Luke sums it up when he says “it felt amazing to be part of the concerts this year. I love the feeling when all the fabulous music that we play flows through my ears.”

We had such a brilliant time sharing our music with you. A big thank you to our partners and funders who make NOYO possible, to the staff at Milton Court Concert Hall, Lighthouse Poole, Hoddinott Hall, and Birmingham Town Hall, and to the BSL interpreters.

Cor Anglais player Pea said her favourite thing was seeing everyone getting really into the music and bopping along.

We’re grateful for the encouragement and feedback we got from our awesome audience, and we were really pleased to welcome many disabled audience members. Some told us it was their first NOYO concert, and that they were “blown away.”

There were cheeky moments behind the scenes. NOYO musicians decided to show off their star qualities by wearing sunglasses for the encore, Behroozi by Lucky Chops. We hope you enjoy our pictures with sunglasses! There were also fairy lights on instruments, music stands and wheelchairs.

A young musician wearing sunglasses plays cello onstage with the National Open Youth Orchestra (NOYO). A young musician wearing sunglasses and using a wheelchair laughs onstage with NOYO as an audience applauds. A young musician using a wheelchair smiles at an audience. She wears sunglasses and is surrounded by other NOYO musicians.

Some of the feedback we got:

“New and interesting compositions. Joyful atmosphere. Energetic and accomplished performances.”

“Not only do all the individual players shine, but the way they work as a group and share joy through playing music together is lovely to watch! The friendly and supportive dynamic really shone through to the audience and the space was so warm and welcoming.”

We’ve started working on our next tour for the summer of 2026, so watch this space.
